Ms. Elizabeth

Master Toddler Teacher hired March, 1990.  I graduated from La Guardia Community College with an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am a loving and nurturing teacher who thrives on interacting with young children. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child better. I believe that with respect and sincere interaction, we will build positive relationships which will help each child to grow and flourish.  I am a very happy and proud mother of three wonderful teenagers.  I speak Spanish and English.  In my spare time I enjoy being with my family (husband, mom, and my children), reading, dancing, listening to music, and cooking! I am also a proud grandma to my beautiful grandson Hendrix.

Ms. Patricia

Lead Teacher hired January, 2013. I interned at the BPC Nursery in 2009 and then completed my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Brooklyn College. I earned my Masters at Bank Street School. I started out teaching toddlers, but became a 3K for All Lead Teacher in 2021.  In my free time I enjoy shopping, spending time with my friends and family and trying new types of food.  I am fluent in both English and Spanish.  I look forward to meeting you and watching your children learn and grow!

Ms. Oriana

Assistant Education Direction hired February, 2014. I began my career at B.P.C.D.N. as a preschool Lead Teacher and in 2021 I became the Assistant Education Director.  I had been teaching young children between the ages of 14 months and 4 years for 17 years. I have Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College. Ever since I was young, I knew that I wanted to have a career working with children. It has always been a real passion of mine. I love knowing that what I am doing has some sort of impact on children’s lives as I guide them through their early years. I really enjoy the administrative aspect of my job. I am able to support the running of the Nursery as well as spend time in the classrooms getting to know your children.

Ms. Yashira

Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher, hired in September, 2010. I graduated from Borough of Manhattan Community College with an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education and earned my BS in Early Childhood Education from Touro College. I started at the BPCDN as a part-time assistant in a toddler room and was a full time toddler teacher for 4 years. I wanted  to try working with a different age group, and in 2019 I was given the opportunity to work in the Pre-K For All program. I am so excited to get to know all of the children and watch them learn and grow. I live in the Bronx and love to spend my free time with my family and friends, listening to music and having fun. I speak English and Spanish fluently. I am looking forward to an exciting year full of wonderful and enriching experiences.

Ms. Domonique

Assistant Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, hired September 2019. I graduated from Borough Of Manhattan Community College with an AA Degree in Early Childhood Education. I was originally scheduled  to teach in the younger classroom but was given the opportunity to work in UPK and I jumped right on it. I already had years of experiences working with birth to three year olds and wanted to dive into UPK after interning in a classroom, while enrolled in a course called Teacher Cadet (a course that gave future teachers opportunity to intern in education) in South Carolina, and  just from those small sessions I came to love and enjoyed the tech and broaden material that could be taught with that age group. Every since second grade I already knew I wanted to become a teacher. I’ve always enjoyed helping and teaching and putting a new spin on materials I was taught, so I knew becoming a teacher was just the right fit for my love and passion for teaching.

I’ve  been living in the Bronx for 14 years with my mother and baby Lilly (dog). I enjoy playing video games, reading, writing, binge watching shows, and doing loads of arts and crafts. I’m so happy I’m able to continue my educational journey at B.P.C.D.N. and able to teach your child and bring a little southern education to the big Apple.
